Configuring the Digium IAXy S100I

Configuring the Digium IAXy S100I

This page details configuring the Digium IAXy S100I ATA (typically called IAXy). It converts POTS phones to SIP phones. It has three connections:

  1. FXS Port: for connecting a POTS phone
  2. Ethernet Port: for connecting to the network
  3. Power: for connecting the AC adapter to

There is a special order to connect and power on the IAXy so that it registers properly:

  1. Connect the POTS phone
  2. Connect the Ethernet line
  3. Connect and turn on the AC adapter

There are 2 steps to configure the IAXy:

  1. Add an extension in Asterisk PBX
    • First we have to let Asterisk know that we are going to be attaching a new device.
  2. Provision the IAXy
    • The IAXy is just a box with no keyboard or web interface. We have to supply it with the information it needs to connect to the Asterisk server
