Setting up a SIP Phone Extension

Setting up a SIP Phone Extension

There are two main parts to making a SIP phone work with PBX in a Flash. The first part is creating an extension in the Asterisk PBX. The second part is configuring the SIP phone to use the Asterisk PBX. Lastly, if you run into problems with a Snom 190 phone, there's the troubleshooting section

  1. Creating a SIP Extension in Asterisk PBX

This section discusses how to setup a SIP extension using FreePBX to configure Asterisk PBX.

  2. Configuring a SIP phone to use Asterisk PBX

The SNOM 190 is the phone that will be configured to work with the extension made previously in Asterisk PBX.

  3. Troubleshooting the Snom 190 phone

This section details how to reset the phone to factory defaults and upgrading the firmware. Doing these steps will fix 99% of the problems with Snom 190 phones not being able to operate properly.
