In October of 1996 Johnnie visited the Cooke Farm and was immediately enchanted with miniature donkeys. Sharon Cooke spent many hours talking with her and showing her various animals. She decided on a gelding and named him Eeyore. Johnnie continued to visit Sharon and one day brought home Marcey, an older jenny who has foaled many champions. Her pedigree goes back to the original Sardinian imports. Our herd began to increase as we attended more shows and sales. At any given time we have 12 to 16 donkeys on the place. We are members of the Miniature Donkey Promotional Group, the CDMA, the ADMC, the AMDC, and the NMDA. Johnnie is a member of the Miniature Donkey Show Committee of the Calgary Stampede. We enjoy showing and promoting our animals at various local events. The people we have met in the donkey industry are wonderful and many have become cherished friends.

We raise purebred Murray Grey Cattle in a partnership with Vern's sister, Wendy and her husband Udo Adam.
